Richard McClellan Obituary
Richard Levi "Mac" McClellan, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025.
He was born January 22, 1945, in Fostoria, to the late Levi and Edith (King) McClellan. He married Cheryl "Sherry" Knox October 21, 1967, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and she survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are two sons, R. Shannon (Rhoda) McClellan, Fostoria and Shawn P. (Kristen) McClellan, North Baltimore; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mattison, Megan, Cloe (Mike) and Keanu (Aubrey); great-grandchildren, Fabian, Mya, Carter and Niko; brothers, Charles, John and Bryan McClellan; and a sister, Kathy Falter.
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Donna McClellan, Diane Gee and Ron McClellan.
Rich was a 1963 graduate of Fostoria High School and a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. He was a hard worker and retired from Lima Tank Plant. He was a lifelong member of Fostoria 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 1197 and Fostoria VFW. He served 40 years on Fostoria Athletic Boosters and was a member of Fostoria Coin Club. Rich loved all Ohio sports, especially Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, where a Vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Immediately following Mass, there will be a funeral luncheon and gathering in the parish hall at Church. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contribu-tions are suggested to St. Wendelin Catholic Church or Seneca County Honor Bus in care of the funeral home.
