Elsie Davenport
Wood River - Elsie L. Davenport, 86, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her home.
Born November 23, 1937 in Nutwood, IL, she was the daughter of Louis and Lily (Forbes) Andrews.
Elsie had worked as a retail sales associate for many years before retiring in 1994.
On May 30, 1957 in Corinth, MS, she married Ronald D. Davenport. He survives.
Surviving also are a son, Justin Davenport of Wood River; three daughters, Angela Herrin of Gun Barrel, TX, Beverly Kelly of Rosewood Heights, Andra Davenport of St. Louis; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; son, Ronald Davenport, Jr.; brother, James Andrews; and four sisters, Dorothy Preston, Jane Kitson, Mae Miller, and Shirley Andrews.
Private services and burial were conducted at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Clyde Shaw officiated.
Interment was in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
