Randall Roelle Obituary
Randall Joseph Roelle
Randall Joseph "Randy" Roelle, 64, of Okemos, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2023, with his wife and daughter at his side at Sparrow Hospice House after complications from surgery.
He was born Dec. 15, 1958, at Fostoria Community Hospital. He attended Fostoria Community Schools. Randy became a born-again Christian at age 19 and others discovered he had a talent for singing. His voice was used by God to take the message of Jesus to people across the country and parts of Canada, traveling in an RV with his family to tent meetings and revivals. He traveled with the late Pastor Ken Love, who was his close friend, and also traveled solo. He was employed by Farmland Foods as a meat processing supervisor for 15 years.
In Aug., 2001, he met wife, Julia Walsh, who was in the process of adopting a little girl, Amy, from Acqtobe' Kazakhstan. They married Sept. 14, 2002. Amy was their flower girl. Randy also had three children, Heather, Tim, and Alauna. All of his children meant the world to him. Upon moving to Michigan, he worked for Merindorf Meats in Mason, Michigan, where he introduced spiral sliced hams and did deer processing. Randy later took computer classes through Michigan Works and became certified in several computer processing programs. He most recently worked for Peckham, Inc, first as a Passport Call Center agent, then with the Department of Defense, becoming a Quality Control agent. Most recently, he worked with Michigan Department of Agriculture again as a Quality Control agent.
As a family, Randy, Julia, and Amy founded First Baptist Church in Williamston, Michigan, where he used his talent as a soloist and later singing with his wife, Julia. Randy was then invited to lead the church services and to be director of the choir. He enjoyed serving the Lord very much in this way. In 2018, Randy and his family became members of Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan. He loved tinkering in the garage, was very mechanically talented, and also finished many projects and improvements around the family home.
He is survived by wife, Julia Walsh Roelle of Okemos, Michigan; children, Heather, Tim, and Alauna, all of Fostoria, and Amy of Okemos; grandchildren, Vallina, Ian, Kahliya, Khai, London, and Cassius, Ahna Lysia, Halle'Ahna, and Angel, all of Fostoria, and Shandrell (Lawrence) of Atlanta, Georgia; and great-grandchildren, Akalo Cruz, Natalie, and Santana of Fostoria, and Myla and Zaylen of Atlanta, Georgia. He loved being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Randy is also survived by his sisters, Kathryn (Doug) and Sheryl; brothers, Charles Pearl Jr. and Mike (Carol), all of Fostoria; brothers-in law, Joseph Walsh Jr. of Haslett, Michigan, and James (Diana) Walsh of San Clemente, California; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; several cousins; uncles, Bob and David; and aunts, Linda, Elaine, and Octa.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Ann Roelle; father, Charles Pearl Roelle; stepmother, Barb Roelle; in-laws, Joseph and Beverly Walsh; sister, Brenda Roelle; and son-in-law, Louis Webb.
Randy's services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Road, Lansing, Michigan, with Pastor Marvin Williams presiding. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Seneca Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Tiffin.
The family is being served by Palmer Bush Jensen Funeral Home, Delta Chapel.
Randy would want anyone who doesn't know Christ as their personal savior to reach out to a pastor or Christian friend and ask how Jesus has changed their life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to either Sparrow Hospice House or Trinity Church, both in Lansing, in his name.
