Phyllis S. Dawson

Phyllis S. Dawson, 94, of Mahomet, Illinois, and formerly of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at her home.

She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Fostoria, to the late William and Emma (Fuhr) Sendelbach. She married Harry S. Dawson on Dec. 10, 1956, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death Jan. 30, 1984.

Phyllis is survived by a son, Kevin (Jackeline) Dawson; and granddaughter, Gabriela Dawson, all of Mahomet, Illinois.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Brett Steven (Glenna) Dawson; and brothers and sisters, Ambrose "John" Sendelbach, Mary "Margaret" Sendelbach, Clarence William Sendelbach, Eleonor "Pearl" Kroetz, Dorothy Louise Sendelbach, Beatrice Mae Sendelbach, Helen Annabelle "Annie" Shontz, William Edward Sendelbach, Cyril Joseph Sendelbach, Gerald "Jake" Sendelbach, and Howard Richard "Pat" Sendelbach.

Phyllis was a homemaker and former member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Her hobbies included reading and helping others.

All services were private for family. Burial took place at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a local humane society in care of the funeral home.
