Michelle Schaser Obituary

Michelle Lyn Schaser

Michelle Lyn Schaser, 48, a beloved educator, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

Michelle was born March 17, 1975, in Wauseon, to Byron Riley and Judy (Riley) Oditt. She was raised in a loving family and graduated from Wauseon High School in 1993.

Michelle pursued her passion for teaching and earned a Master's degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. It was there that she met her future husband, Brad Schaser, whom she married Aug. 15, 1998. Together, they raised their son, Braden, who was the light of Michelle's life.

Michelle dedicated 23 years of her life to teaching in the Lakota school district, where she made a lasting impact on countless students. She was a true Lakota Raiders fan and could always be found cheering on her students at sporting events. Michelle was known for treating her students as if they were her own, always going above and beyond to help them succeed.

Aside from her passion for teaching, Michelle loved spending time with her family and friends. She was extremely competitive and enjoyed nothing more than a good game night. Her quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor made her a joy to be around. Michelle was also deeply devoted to God and her faith was an important part of her life.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Judy (R. Keith) Oditt; sisters, Angela (Paul) Behnke and Melissa (James) Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Byron Riley.

Michelle's legacy will live on through the lives of those she touched. She was a shining light to everyone she met and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Michelle's parting message to us all was to "Find a tribe that makes you happy," and for those fortunate enough to have been a part of her tribe, she will always be remembered. #ohanaforever
