Mary Bates Obituary
Mary Julia Bates of Risingsun passed away Monday morning, March 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born May 13, 1927, in Bowling Green, to Orlando Coral and Louise (Ritzman) Ridenhour. She married Gayle E. Bates on March 21, 1946, in Bowling Green, and he is deceased.
Mary is survived by her children, Rick (Robin) Bates of Kansas, Judy Miller and Rosemary Miller, both of Fremont, Gail "Lynne" (Ernie) Russell of Kansas, and Jodi Bates of Bowling Green; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Paul David Bates; brothers, Gerald Fredrick and Coral; and sisters, Freda, Delores, and Mae.
Mary was a 1945 graduate of Bowling Green High School and homemaker. She retired from the Ex Cello Co in Fostoria with over 20 years of service and was a member of Risingsun Church of God.
Mary's funeral will be private with burial at Bradner Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is assisting family with services.
