Manfred Erich Graw

Manfred Erich Graw, 83, of Fostoria, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at his home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Berlin, Germany, to Erich and Charlotte (Steiner) Graw. He came to the United States, his "adopted country," at the age of 17. He enlisted in U.S. Army and served during Vietnam for one year.

Manfred married Barbara Ann Schroder on Oct. 7, 1967, at First United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Carl Folk presiding.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Graw; two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" (Daniel) Harber of Rochester, Minnesota, and Ashley (Bill) Hagerman of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren, Kathryn and Madison, and Jacob and Noah; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Susanne.

Manfred was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Hildegard Cramer and Gisela Hunt and an infant sister.

Manfred was a Ring Furnace Operator for National Electric Carbon where he served for over 40 years. He was involved with making the specific re-entry cloths for the Space Shuttle. He then worked for Hisan in Findlay for another 10 years.

Manfred had a green thumb and enjoying planting flowers. He could make just about anything grow. He liked working on his house and taking walks in the park with his wife, Barbara. He also rescued cats and was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, until the time of Manfred's funeral at 1 p.m. at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.
