Luella Whetsel Obituary
Luella Faye Whetsel, 85, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 28, 1938, in Wayne, to Keneth and Ruth (Hartsaugh) Chambers. She married Darrell H. Whetsel on Aug. 18, 1956, at in Mt. Zion Church in Wayne. Darrell passed away March 17, 2014.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Louan) Whetsel of Risingsun and Bill (Eileen) Whetsel of Fostoria; daughter, Cindy (Rex) Reinhart of Fostoria; grandchildren, Candi Fought, Ashley, Trent and Brody Whetsel, Olivia Boone, Desia Holcombe, and Darci Graber; great-grandchildren, Robert Jackson, Ross, Odin, Braxton, Oliver, Oakly, Louie, Jacob, Justin, Amber, and Adrian; and great-great-grandchildren, Bradlee, Joel, and Javier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Wayne Whetsel; daughter, Sharon Kay Whetsel; and brothers, Walt, Harley, Maynard, and Edwin Chambers.
Faye retired from Airfoil Textron in Fostoria. She was a graduate of Portage High School. Darrel and Faye's favorite hangouts were the Fostoria Sportsmen and Moose Lodge. Faye was a Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, Ohio State and NASCAR fan. "Grandma Faye" as she was known by many, never missed a grandchild's sporting event and was their No. 1 fan.
Faye's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Paul Rutledge officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Wayne. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice, 907 W. State St. Suite A, Fremont, Ohio, 43420.
