James E. "Jim" Glieden, age 90, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born on January 27, 1934 in Sedan, Minnesota to William and Helen (Swenson) Glieden. Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked as a pipefitter at S.D. Warren for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1994. On February 23, 1957, he married the former JoAnne Terpenning in Muskegon, and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1996. He then married Emma Butler on September 26, 1997 in Muskegon and she also preceded him in death on December 15, 2016. Jim was a member of the Lakeside Eagles Aerie 3306 and the American Legion. He also enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys for others to enjoy. SURVIVORS include two sons: Shane Glieden of Grant and Kevin (Laura) Glieden of Grand Rapids; step-daughters: Patricia (Rick) Fox and Theresa DuPont; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Judi) Glieden of New Jersey; sister, Donna Knopik; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean Glieden; daughter-in-law, Linda Glieden; great-grandson, Tay Kevin; brother, Thomas Glieden; and sister, Monnie Ulrich. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Lakeside Eagles Aerie 3306 (2355 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441) with Military Honors taking place at 1:00 PM. MEMORIALS to Hospice of Michigan will be appreciated. I became friends with him at lakeside eagles in 2017. He was always full of fun conversation as we could talk together all day. He is

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim for many years at S.D. Warren and found him to be a very personable man. I also enjoyed his company when I would see him at Lakeside Eagles. What a great guy!
