Kevin Frederick Obituary

Kevin Kyle Frederick

Kevin Kyle Frederick, 71, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, with his wife by his side. Kevin was born June 23, 1954, in Fostoria, to the late Francis A. Frederick and Rowena (Risner) Frederick Lowery. Kevin married Teresa R. Kramb, whom he affectionately called "Rosebud" at St Wendelin Catholic Church October 19, 1990.

He is survived by his wife; brothers, Brett (Tammy) Frederick and Brian Frederick; sisters-in law, Diane (the late Jerry) Niswander, Nancy (the late Ernie) Sparks, and Angie (Phil) Sallisbury; and brothers-in-law, Stephen Kramb and Anthony (Martina) Kramb. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, who were quite fond of their Uncle Kevin (KK).

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Maxine Kramb; brothers-in-law, Ernie Sparks, Jerry Niswander and Michael (Brenda) Kramb; and nephew, Jason Sparks.

Kevin graduated from Fostoria High School in 1972 and, along with his buddy, Bill Berrier, enlisted in the United States Army. He served from June 1972 to June 1974. Kevin was a heavy equipment mechanic in the 25th Infantry Division, 84th Engineers. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. During this time, he and Bill made many fond memories. After his military service, he attended and graduated from Tiffin University. Years later, Kevin and Bill had the privilege of being part of Flag City Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Kevin was able to go to Washington a second time with American Legion Honor Bus as well. He was proud to be a part of both of these trips.

Kevin retired from Honeywell, Fostoria, where he served as health and safety representative for Local 533 Union. Prior to that, he worked at Excello Corp., Fostoria

Kevin was a member of AMVETS Post 69, American Legion Post 73, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1567. He was a Big Brother for eight years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

He enjoyed bowling in his Friday and Monday leagues with the boys and looked forward to the many bowling tournaments, especially those in Vegas and Reno. He liked to golf and would sign up for most any golf scramble, which usually included his good friend, Bob Wickard. Kevin loved to camp with Rosebud, relaxing around a fire. He was an Ohio State Football fan and an avid Cleveland Browns fan from the time he was a little boy, when he saw the bright orange helmets on TV. Kevin was also instrumental in establishing Fostoria Browns Backers.

Kevin loved travelling with his wife and took several European trips to places like the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Italy. He especially loved their most recent river cruise from Budapest, Hungary, along the Danube River through Austria and up the Rhine River to Amsterdam, where he reconnected with his friend Hans and got to finally meet Hans' son, Kevin (named after him). Kevin and his wife also travelled around much of the US and to Mexico. On one of his trips to Hawaii, deep-sea fishing, he hooked a 6-foot blue marlin, which currently resides on the wall of his house. Of all his travels, one of his favorite places was Florida, where he stayed with his longtime good friends, Jim and Sally Ulicny.

Kevin never knew a stranger and made friends in a heartbeat, and it was unusual to see him in anything other than shorts and flip-flops, so please dress as casually as you would like for his memorial service. Kevin wouldn't want it any other way.

Memorial visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where Fostoria United Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 5 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow.

Donations can be made to Glioblastoma Foundation or Flag City Honor Flight.
