Kenneth Roush Obituary

Kenneth Edward Roush

Kenneth Edward "Ken" Roush passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 12, 2026, at age 82.

He was born to Marion and Thelma (Bowe) Roush, April 6, 1943, in Toledo. Ken was married to his high school sweetheart Judy (Engle) Roush, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage this past October.

He graduated from Risingsun High School in 1961, the last graduating class from this school. Ken worked for Chrysler at the Fostoria Foundry for 17 years after graduation. He moved back to the family farm in the late 70's with his wife and children. He farmed until 1989, when he re-entered the machinist field, which he would eventually retire from.

Ken was a light-hearted and often mischievous man who was enjoyed by all. He was quick to share a funny story or hearty laugh with anyone he met. He was notorious for ordering pie first when sitting down to dinner. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing Pinochle, Euchre, Poker and Bridge with friends. He and his wife Judy valued their time with their Card club, a group of friends who gathered each month for over 50 years. He enjoyed the competition and the camaraderie equally.

Ken enjoyed making many things and excelled at woodworking. He spent many joyful hours working on projects big and small in his garage, even in his final days. He was committed to finding solutions and working around his limitations to live a productive and purpose –filled life. He also greatly enjoyed being outdoors and traveling around to experience our beautiful country. Wherever he went, he would drive off the highway and take a "quick country mile" drive through farm country and natural spaces.

Ken was raised in the church and maintained his faith throughout his life. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria for over 50 years.

He is survived and will be missed by his wife Judy; their children, Greg (Tina) and Sherry. He was adored by his two nieces, Andrea Engle and Danielle Engle and their children, Josylynn, Trey, Izzy and Liam.

Memorial visitation is 10 a.m. – noon Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church, 151 W. Center Street, Fostoria, where a memorial service will take place at noon with Pastor Robin Kapostasy presiding. Burial will follow at Bradner Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a luncheon at the church.
