Kathleen Marie Tiell

Kathleen Marie Tiell, 90, of Tiffin, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born March 29, 1933, in Tiffin, to Cecil and Kathryn (Kennedy) Warnement. She married Herman J. Tiell on June 16, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2016.

Kathleen's survivors include a son, Robert (Gwen) Tiell of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; three daughters, Pat (Urban) Scherley of Bellevue, Mary Jane (John) Leonowich of Elyria, and Karen (Charlie) Johnson of Minerva; 11 grandchildren, Shaye Tiell, Jacob Tiell, Ryan Tiell, Krista (Dave) Sturdevant, Tony (Rachel) Scherley, Kevin Scherley, John (Sarah) Scherley, Michael (Xiumara) Leonowich, Bradley Leonowich, Jessica (Antwon) Johnson, and Chas (Santanna) Johnson; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joann) Warnement of Tiffin; and three sisters, Dorothy Brickner and Marge (Jerry) Brickner, both of Tiffin, and Betty (David) Batey of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and an infant brother.

Kathleen was a 1951 Calvert High School graduate. She retired as a Calvert High School cafeteria cook. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, a volunteer at St. Francis Home, and member of the Wednesday night Pinochle Club. She loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren's activities.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony Coci will officiate. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
