Kathleen Ann Nieset

Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Nieset, 77, of Helena, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023.

She was born April 3, 1946, to Golen and Estella (Juckett) Clapper.

Kathy graduated from Lakota High School in 1964. She also went to school in Chicago and later in Bowling Green where she earned her LPN.

Kathy retired after working 40 years at Fremont Memorial Hospital and through the years, she worked part-time at Fostoria Hospital, Heinz, and Elmwood Assisted Living.

She married the love of her life, Leonard Nieset, on Sept. 13, 2003, at Scott Trinity.

Kathy was a member of Scott Trinity United Methodist Church, Risingsun. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her fellow co-workers, and her family. She will be remembered as a fill-in mother to her nieces and nephews and a friend to everyone she met.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Leonard of Helena; sister, Shirley (Roger) Below of Risingsun; nieces and nephews, Tim (Teresa) Below, Mike Below, Jim (Deanna) Conrad, Sonya (Bronson) Daley, Jason (Anita) Conrad, Suzette Wohlgamuth, and Shanna (Jeremy) Secord; 19 great-nieces and nephews; 13 great-great-nieces and nephews; several cousins; and many cats, especially Oris.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, and 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, until the time of Kathy's funeral at 11 a.m., all at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg. Burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Helena. Pastor Keith Norwalk will officiate.

Memorial donations may be directed to Scott Trinity United Methodist Church.
