My mom was always there for us as kids and into adulthood. Our lives were so full because of how she poured herself into everything she did. She made holidays extra enjoyable, especially Christmas. I still remember how she successfully raised a robin until it could fend for itself. Not only talented in music, she taught herself how to knit, crochet and embroider. She sewed tiny clothes for our Barbie dolls, and skirts and jumpers for my gradeschool sister and me. She was the best mom, and a great shopping and travel companion. Our two sons benefited from all the love and attention she gave them as their grandma. She always listened, guided and helped our family. What a people person! She is truly loved and missed.

My.mom Pat had a true love of music and their clairenets and many band memories. As I don't drive have not seen much since my mom 's passing but did catch up at some concerts. Jean was a talented clarinetist, a caring neighbor, a supportive mentor, and a great friend. She welcomed me into the Fostoria Community Band when I was just 14, and her encouragement and example played an important role in my involvement with the band for many years.

One of my favorite memories was our post-concert ice cream tradition, a nice way to mark the end of those summer evenings. As a neighbor, Jean always had a comforting presence that made us feel at ease on our corner of Rock Street.

Jean will be missed, but her warmth, wisdom, and music will stay with me forever.

My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your Mother. It is not easy losing a parent. She was always so friendly when I was there as a teenager. Prayers for all of you.

Correction for my mother. It was the YMCA Board of Trustees of Fostoria that she was a member of. She also served as the secretary. Other efforts of hers include the Welcome Wagon of Fostoria, The March of Dimes (pitching-in for hands-on physical therapy), and work with Cub Scouts.

My mother served the community for several decades. She was on the Fostoria Board of Trustees, involved in the Riley School library, a Brownie leader and a member of the Hope Lutheran Church Bell Choir. She ruled-the-roost at 139 Rock Street for 60 years and was very supportive of family in so many ways. Her fondest memories were of Fremont in the 40's and 50's.
