James Miccichi Obituary

James V. Miccichi

James V. Miccichi, 84, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

He was born June 23, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Salvatore and Helen (Mullen) Miccichi. He married Georgene Miccichi on May 21, 1957, in Napoleon.

James is survived by his wife, Georgene Miccichi of Fostoria; daughters, Cindy (Butch) DeMonte of Bradenton, Florida, and Julie Affholder of Tiffin; sons, Jeff (Mary) Miccichi of Delaware, Kevin (Carolyn) Miccichi of Rushville, Indiana, and Brian (Kenzie) Miccichi of Findlay; brother, Bill (Cindy) Miccichi of Sarasota, Florida; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Miccichi.

James was a graduate of Edon High School and earned degrees from Bowling GReen State University, St. Francis, and Defiance Colleges. He retired as Superintendent of Hopewell-Loudon Schools. James coached several sports including softball at Heidelberg. He was an avid golfer and pickleball player. James loved Detroit Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings, as well as Ohio State.

Private memorial services will be at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements were handled by Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.

To Georgene and family. Jim was a wonderful and important person in my life. We spent a long working association with one another. I found him to be a person of great organizational and leadership skills. He was a respected educator. He was devoted to best interests of Hopewell Loudon school district. I know that he loved his wife and children dearly and was very proud of each of them and their accomplishments. Arlene and I were saddened by his death.i lost a good friend and mentor. Ron Jump.

Georgene and family, I want to send my sympathy and condolences for your loss of a loving husband and father. I know he will be sadly missed and leaves a void in your lives.
He was a good man. He was a highly respected educator. He was competent problem solver and mentor.
Always a coach, he always enjoyed and was an active competitor.
