Leroy Hoole Obituary


Leroy E. "Ed" Hoole died March 31st, 2024 in Parker, CO. Ed was born August 20, 1935 in McCook NE and grew up in San Diego County CA. His parents, Leroy E. Hoole Sr. and Margaret Hoole (Real), son Eric F, and wife Edith Hoole (Redington) predeceased him. He is survived by his son Elliott (wife Julie), daughter Emily (husband Oivind), and five grandchildren.

In 1991 Ed and Edith moved to Bryce Resort in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where they lived for almost 22 years. During their time there, Ed was treasurer and President of the property owners association and the Lions Club and President of Bryce Resort. He participated in local government where he chaired the Commission on the Future of Shenandoah County and served two terms on the County Library Board where he was Treasurer and President. While traveling in Europe, Edith and Ed survived the sinking of the MS Sea Diamond in April 2007 off Santorini Greece.

When Edith's health deteriorated in 2013, Edith and Ed moved to The Legacy at North Augusta, in Staunton, VA. Edith died in February 2015, and in January 2024, Ed moved to Parker, CO to be near his son Elliott.

Ed was cremated in Parker, CO. A funeral service will be held Aug 22nd at Saint John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA, and his remains will be buried next to his wife and son Eric.
