H. House Obituary
H. Evelyn House, 102, of Risingsun, passed from her earthly home Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Independence House, Fostoria.
Evelyn was born April 5, 1923, in Columbus, to Harry and Flossie (Evans) Waugh. She married Warren C. House, January 1, 1944, and he preceded her in death July 17, 2012.
Surviving are children, Lynn (Helen) House and Awanda (Dennis) McCoy, both of Fostoria; three granddaughters, Tamara (Jeff) Hammond, Wendy (Zach) Suttin, and Allison (Andy) Brough; eight great-grandchildren; and two, plus one on the way, great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; parents and three brothers.
Evelyn was a 1941 graduate of Ostrander High School. She retired after 20 years of service from what is now known as Key Bank, Risingsun. She attended First Church of God in Risingsun and was a former member of Rebecca Lodge also in Risingsun. Additionally, Evelyn was a lifelong animal lover.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday August 29, 2025, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Paul Rutledge, presiding. Committal services and burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Risingsun Fire Department, Southeast Ambulance Service, or Wood County Humane Society.
