Gerry Louis Omlor

Gerry Louis Omlor, 82, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his residence.

He was born March 23, 1942, in Bascom, to the late Otto and Ruth (Walter) Omlor. He married Beverly Creeger in 1960, and they divorced. He then married Bonnie (Miller) Stanley in 1980 and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are seven children, Bryan (Sue) Omlor, Fostoria, Renee (Jim) Daniel, Sycamore, Tony (Lisa) Stanley, Lewis Center, Bruce Omlor, Toledo, Nicole' (Tony) Farkasdi, Findlay, Kyle (Holly) Omlor, Toledo and Matt (Jen) Omlor, Middlefield; 17 grandchildren, Sam (Jen) Daniel, Jenny (Louis) Boehler, Aaron (Sara) Omlor, Adam (Brittany) Omlor, Hilary Omlor, Rachael DuMonte, Jacob (Sarah) Daniel, Lindsey (Jaime) Hays, Casey (Molly) Stanley, Emma Omlor, Gabe Omlor, Nathan Omlor, Joel Farkasdi, Eve Omlor Garrett Omlor, Jesse Omlor and Kaityln Omlor; 21 great-grandchildren, Brock, Jackson, Chase and Ava Daniel, Isabella and Troy DuMonte, Cora, Beau, June and Tedi Daniel, Alex Boehler, Logan, Ellie and Graham Omlor, Sydney, Evan and Gavin Omlor, Eric Luce, Colton James and Luke Hays and baby Stanley on the way; and a brother, James (Diana) Omlor.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Troy Omlor, Ft. Myers, Florida, and a brother, Joel (Audrey) Omlor.

Gerry graduated from Hopewell-Loudon Schools in 1960 and attended Findlay University. He was a salesman and district manager for United Insurance Company and owned The Doughnut Shop in Tiffin. He also worked for Seneca Lumber Co. and Tri-Co Glass, both in Fostoria. Gerry owned and operated G-L-O Services, a painting and papering business, for 30 years.

Gerry was a big fan of The Ohio State University Football team, Cleveland Indians/Guardians, and Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of Risingsun Church of God.

Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830. The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at Risingsun Church of God with Pastor Paul Rutledge, presiding.

The family asks that those attending Gerry's service to please wear bright colors.
