George D. Smith

George D. Smith, 81, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

George was born September 11, 1944, in Bloomville, to the late Charles and Margaret (Snyder) Smith.

Survivors include his daughters, Terri Smith of Bloomville, Mickey Stahl and Gail (Dave) Rochester, both of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

George retired from American Standard and was a member of Tiffin Moose Lodge, Eagles and also enjoyed fishing, motorsports, and spending time with his grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Albert Smith; and a sister, Mille Holmer.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will be no funeral service or burial at this time.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to family in care of Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington Street, Tiffin, OH 44883.

I knew George in school at Bloomville. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. We worked in the kitchen together during lunch time and he occasionally gave me rides to school. My condolences to his family.
