Gene L. Moore

Gene L. Moore, 81, of Fostoria passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Good Shepherd Home with his family by his side.

He was born September 9, 1942, in Hancock Co., Ohio, to Lowell Len and Esther Ruth (Schlosser) Moore. He married Victoria J. Billock on April 27, 1963, and she survives.

Also surviving is his son, Craig (Jo Lynn) Moore, of Arcadia; and a daughter, Lisa (Jamie) Youngston of Corunna, Michigan; three grandchildren, Drew Youngston, Brandon (Danielle) Youngston, and Alexandra (Derek) Powell; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, Jamie, Kelley, Dustin, Seth, and Corey; 12 step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Joanne Weaver; and great-grandson, Briggs Youngston.

Gene was a 1960 graduate of Arcadia High School and went on to study mechanical engineering in Cleveland. He was an architect by trade and started with Seneca Millwork in 1961 and retired in 2009. During this time he was involved in the designing of Frontier Town and the Upside Down House at Cedar Point.

From a very young age he and his family enjoyed vacationing and fishing in Canada.

He continued his love for fishing with his "fishing buddies", enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards, visiting Lake Erie and Marblehead, and most of all Gene loved his family and adored his grandchildren, as they too shared the same adoration for him. He will be dearly missed by all. "Be good pal".

Private arrangements have been entrusted with Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.
