Gary Frankart Obituary
Gary J. Frankart, 79, of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1944, in Fostoria, to Arthur Michael and Anna (Smith) Frankart. He married Genevieve Zoeller on Oct. 22, 1966, and they shared 35 years of marriage.
Gary is survived by three children, Rick (Cindy) Frankart of Findlay, Kimberly (Kevin) Kreais of Fostoria, and Stacy (Bo) Holmes of Fostoria; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Tonya, Jessie, Megan, Adam, Dylan, and Ella; sister, Marilyn (Dale) Wilson of Gibsonburg; and brothers, Keith (Linda Jones) Frankart of Fostoria, Tim (Peg) Frankart of Fostoria, and Bill (Kathy Slaughterbeck) Frankart of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Mike Frankart, Dan Frankart, Sharon Smith, and stillborn infant, Richard Frankart.
Gary worked at Intersil in Findlay and at Ohio Carpenters Union as a millwright. He retired from Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, as a machine repairman after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, golfing, farming, coaching little league baseball, and watching his grandchildren play at their sporting events.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hopewell-Loudon Athletic Boosters, Fostoria Athletic Boosters, or Liberty-Benton Athletic Boosters, all in care of the funeral home.

Gary was a good man who worked hard, played hard, and lived with zest. He did have his share of challenges, as we all do, but Gary faced those challenges with faith and courage. He always tried to be the best as a father, a brother, and especially as a Grandfather. As his brother and sister-in-law, we will miss him. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
