Frances R. DeLaRosa

Frances R. DeLaRosa, 86, of Fostoria, passed away at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2024, at St. Catherine's Manor, Fostoria.

She was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Donna, Texas, to Jesus and Ezquia (Banda) Reyes. She married Pedro "Pete" DeLaRosa Sr. on Oct. 7, 1955, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, and he preceded her in death Nov. 3, 2000.

Frances is survived by her sons, Pedro J. "Pete" DeLaRosa and John A. DeLaRosa, both of Fostoria; daughters, Mary A. (Daniel) Stewart, Celia D. (Dennis) Herr, and Anna M. (Earl White) DeLaRosa, all of Fostoria; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Emilio Vargas of California and Lupe Villegas of California; and sisters, Minerva V. Rhiel of Washington and Janie V. Martinez of Wisconsin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Mario L., Omar B., and Pedro Jr.; granddaughter, Alisha; brother, Augustine Villegas; and an aunt who raised her, Felipa B. Villegas.

Frances was a homemaker and member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church. She worked in housekeeping for St. Wendelin's for 13 years and Ohio First Credit Union for nine years. She was known for her kindness and hospitality, always welcoming and preparing meals for family and visitors. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, listening to music, dancing, camping, coloring books, and traveling on Pete's motorcycle. But most of all, she loved her family. She will be dearly missed by all.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Vigil will be led at 7:30 p.m. Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery.
