Florence Weiker Obituary
Florence A. Weiker, 97, of Wayne, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 21, 1925, near Wayne, to George H. and Ida (Lockmiller) David. Florence married Alex A. Weiker on April 2, 1944, in Pemberville, and he preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1989.
Florence is survived by two sons, Harvey Weiker of Wayne and Terry (Evelyn) Weiker of Wayne; seven grandchildren, Isaac (Hollie) Weiker, Sandy (Lee) Porter, Sarah Snyder, Karen Lackey, Renea (Jacob) Kessler, Megan (Dominic) Friesner, and Austin Weiker; and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida; two sons, Donald Weiker and Eugene Weiker; three brothers, Clarence David, George David, and Donald David; and sister, Dora David.
Florence was a 1944 graduate of Portage High School and then took care of her family as a homemaker all her life. Among many hobbies over the years, she enjoyed sitting around campfires and spending all of her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Florence's celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Melanie Haack officiating. Burial will be at Fish Cemetery near New Rochester.
Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Hospice.
