Elva Mae Burdett

Elva Mae (Hammer) Burdett, 95, of Fostoria, went peacefully to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her daughter's home. She was born March 27, 1931, at her Aunt Mae's house in Chester, Ohio, to John and Marguerite (Spencer) Rasp. She first married Charles A. Hammer in 1950 and later married Arthur B. Burdett, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughters, Carole A. (Hammer) Stahl of Risingsun, Ellen F. (Hammer) Groves of Fostoria, and adopted daughter, Amber (Brock) Baeder; sister, Judy (David) Harber; grandchildren, Jason C. (Tonia) Groves, Justin B. (fiancé Sarah) Groves, all of Fostoria, Ralph Stahl II and Joseph Stahl, both of Risingsun; great-grandchildren, Trey and Jasmine Groves, Blaine and Gabby Groves, Paris and Jesse Stahl, Nadia and Cadance, Lucas and Ava Lynn; also many nieces and nephews. She was known as Grandma to many others whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Clayton and Billy Rasp; and sisters, Nettie Skobel, Jean Frankart and Sharon Filer.

Elva retired from RCA after 33 years of service. She was a member of Fostoria Baptist Church for over 65 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Fostoria High School. She loved the Lord and started going to church at a young age, and took whoever she could with her. She loved playing the organ and piano, and she had music nights at her house for many years. She loved to cook, bake, travel, golf and her many cats and rabbits and enjoyed attending the grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Her cherished recipes and the meals she prepared with love created lasting memories that will be treasured for generations and missed by all who were blessed to gather at her table.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Ken Dady officiating. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at the funeral home.
