Dorothy Droll Obituary

Dorothy A. (Wilhelm) Droll

Dorothy A. (Wilhelm) Droll, 98, of Fostoria, entered eternal life Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Good Shepherd Home.

She was born July 4, 1925, in Tiffin, to John and Margaret (Desch) Wilhelm.

She married Emmett N. Droll on Aug. 9, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin, and they celebrated 74 years of marriage prior to his death Aug. 29, 2019.

Together, they raised their five children who survive, Barbara (Bill) Holden of St. Petersburg, Florida, Patricia (Bob) Brickner of Lansing, Michigan, Karen Droll of Columbus, Marilyn Droll of Powell, and Joseph (Pam) Droll of Fostoria. They were also blessed with six grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren who survive, Jonathan (Emilee) Brickner and Liam, Otto, and Rosalyn of Ada, Michigan, W.Gregory (Mollie) Holden and Will of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jason (Michelle) Droll and Kelli, Lexi, Cayden, Maci, Brayden, and Grayden of Findlay, Matthew (Megan) Brickner and Emmett and Anna of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Steve (Kasia) Holden and Ania and Mila of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Adam (Lauren) Heffelfinger of Dublin, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Dorothy is also survived by three brothers.

Dorothy graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School and was a dedicated member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Dorothy was also involved in many volunteer roles in the Fostoria community as a member of Emblem Club, Senior Friends, Daybreak, and Bureau of Concern. She was most proud to be one of the founding members of As I See It, a support group for people with low vision, macular degeneration, etc.

We remember with love the many roles she lived every day: Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Neighbor, and a great Friend to many.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.
