Donna Aurand Obituary

Donna P. Aurand

Donna P. Aurand, 102, of Wayne, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Wood Haven Health Care in Bowling Green. She was born February 4, 1922, in Wayne to the late Dorsey A. & Leah A. (Hartman) Ward. She married Calvin M. Aurand on June 28, 1942, in Wayne, and he passed away March 14, 2013, after 70 years of marriage.

Surviving are her sons, Eugene (Karen) Aurand of Wayne, Clair (Irene) Aurand of Wayne; daughter-in-law, Clara (John) Knapp of Findlay; grandchildren, Kevin, Rodney, Carrie, Charlie, Penny, Jesse; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Leah; husband, Calvin; son, Glenn Aurand; brothers, Glenn Ward, Harold Ward, Leroy Ward, and Warren "Ray" Ward; and sister, Eileen "Dutch" (Seth) Davis.

Donna was a 1940 Graduate of Montgomery Township High School. She is a member of Wayne Church of Christ, Albert Bowe American Legion Post No.338 Auxiliary, Wood County Farm Bureau & former member of Pythian Sisters. She enjoyed reading but was most known for being the best pie baker in Wood County.

Friends will be received from 11-1 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, where a celebration of life service will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2025, with Pastor Ron Merritt officiating. Burial will be at Graham Cemetery near Wayne.

Memorial donations may be made to Albert Bowe American Legion or to Wayne Volunteer Fire Department.
