Deanna Ash Obituary

Deanna Dawn "Dee" Ash

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Deanna Dawn "Dee" Ash. Dee passed away surrounded by family Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home in Fostoria.

She was born April 15, 1953, in Toledo, the baby and only daughter of Hector and Beverly (Cook) Guindon.

Dee is survived by her husband of 39 years, Tim Ash. Their love and care for one another was obvious until the very end. Dee will also be greatly missed by her children, Justin (Travis Teeters) Dauterman, Anne (Paul) Stauffer, Hailey (Che) Walters, and Sarah (Jimmie) Mabry; grandchildren, Abigail (Levi) Hartley, Mikayla (Manny) Fernandez, Maizie Dauterman, Dekaider Jackson, Murrel June Walters, Treyvon and Ayva Ladler, Dillon (Cypriss) and Megan Mabry; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Iris, Oliver, Willow, Mila, Meilani, Makena, and Declan; and brothers and sisters-in-law who mourn her loss, Victor (Alice) Barish, (Bella) Guindon, Vern (Carole) Guindon, and Phillip Guindon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Guindon; great-grandson, Lincoln Hartley; dear friend, Donnie Bryant; and two sisters-in-law, Mina Barish and Emma Jean Guindon.

Her immediate family was the source of Dee's greatest love and joy. Yet, she loved well and loved so big that it did not stop there. You could always count on Dee to give the biggest smile and best hugs to a host of others including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, many of whom affectionately referred to her as Momma Dee. Her love was palpable and freely given without condition or restraint. She was all-embracing and excluded no one. There was never a negative word said about Dee.

Dee was a 1971 graduate of Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan. She worked many years as general manager of the Iron Skillet in North Baltimore and later at CRaVe Restaurant in Fort Myers, Florida.

Dee enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends. You could always find her at her grandchildren's events where she was their biggest fan, at birthday parties bringing the greatest cheer, and at family gatherings where she was always willing and eager to whip up the grandest of meals for any number of people. Yet she always found time for her greatest passion, tending to her plants and flowers. Dee was an avid gardener. Her green thumb and gift of floriculture was acknowledged by the Fostoria Garden Club's Residential Landscaping Award in which she took great pride.

Dee's husband and children are planning a celebration of life Sunday, July 9, 2023. The location and time to be determined. An announcement will be made via Facebook. You can also contact Tim or one of her children for details.

In honor of Dee, we ask that you hug someone, anyone, and go out into the world and spread joy.
