Charles E. "Chuck" Woerner

Charles E. "Chuck" Woerner, 73, of Risingsun, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at home with his family by his side.

He was born Oct. 31, 1950, in Tecoma, Washington, to Kenneth and Stella (Meck) Woerner. He married Linda Vitte on Sept. 3, 1971, at Assembly of God Church in Fostoria with the Rev. Neller officiating.

Together they enjoyed 52 years and a wonderful family, children, Diana (Wayne) Holliday of Perrysburg and Alan (Stacey Althauser) Woerner of Fostoria; grandchildren, Kyle Holliday, Nicholas Woerner, Dominik Nickelson, and Kaitlynn Bumpus; great-grandchildren, Oliver Nickelson and Harper Valent; and many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Delbert, Paul, and David Woerner; and sister, Pat Finsel.

Chuck was a 1968 graduate of Fostoria High School. He worked at Altas Crankshaft and was a member of Encounter Church in Fostoria with Pastor Michael J. Erdel, where he enjoyed doing handy work and anything that was needed. He liked to golf in his younger days as well as hunting and camping. He enjoyed the outdoors and always had a fire going. Chuck was avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians. With a gift for gab and great sense of humor, he never knew a stranger, enjoyed talking to people, and liked to make people laugh.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, until the time of Chuck's funeral at 11 a.m. at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Pastor Russell Nelson will preside. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
