Charles F. Schindorff

Charles F. Schindorff, 78, of Stevensville, Michigan, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, in the care of the staff at Hanson Hospice Center.

Charles was born June 23, 1944, in Fostoria, to Charles M. and Dorothy (Masel) Schindorff. Drafted into the Army, he served our country overseas as a personnel specialist during Vietnam. Charles graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master's Degree in Accounting. During his career, he worked for NCR, Heath/Zenith, and Shepherd Casters. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his home, his cars, and family genealogy. Charles was part of several bowling and golf leagues thru his lifetime. He missed golfing with his friends so much that one of his goals during his illness was to get back on the golf course.

Charles is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Van Horn of Michigan and Jennifer Brown of Florida; and four grandsons, Tyler and Jakeb Brown and Michael and Timothy Van Horn.

Visitation was Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, Michigan. He will then be brought "home" to Ohio to be laid to rest next to his parents. His care will be transferred to Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, with military honors provided by Fostoria United Veterans.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Caring Circle of Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph, Michigan, Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, Michigan, or American Legion Post 568, Stevensville, Michigan.
