Bertie Lucille Seaman

Bertie Lucille Seaman, 91, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Fostoria, and more recently a resident at Westbook Assisted Living and Memory Care, Upper Sandusky, and Presidential Post Acute, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 10:55 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023.

Bertie was born April 26, 1931, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Robert C. and Carrie E. Hall. She was the widow of Kenneth Rozelle, former superintendent of Fostoria's Cemetery and Park, to whom she was married to for over 50 years. Later, she married Elwood Seaman, who retired from General Motors as a security officer in Michigan and was residing in Port Charlotte, Florida. He passed 15 years later. Both husbands were in the military, Kenny in U.S. Army and Elwood in U.S. Marines.

She is survived by two sisters, Ann Dube of Turner, Maine, and Gloria (Philip) Orians of Harpster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; stepdaughter, Gloria Moore; three stepsons, Gregg, John, and Gary Seaman; two brothers, Robert F. and Allen Hall; three sisters, Myrtle Harvey, Anna Hahn, and Alice Stewart; and brother-in-law, Roger Dube.

Bertie was a homemaker and employee of Bud's Bakery, Fostoria. She was also an employee of Excello Corporation (now Textron), Fostoria, for 20 years. She enjoyed fishing with Kenny and family members at their Sugar Island, Michigan cabin. She was known for her delicious vegetable soup and homemade beef and noodles. She always made family birthday and all-occasion cakes as she was an excellent cake decorator. She enjoyed traveling and visited Arizona, California, Canada, Florida, Maine, Michigan, New York, Tennessee, and Texas during her lifetime.

She was a kind, loving sister whom you could always count on and she will be missed dearly.

Bertie's funeral will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Bertie's graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2023, at Knollcrest Memory Garden, Arcadia.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
