Anthony B. "Tony" Holman

Anthony B. "Tony" Holman, 92, of Fostoria, passed away at 8:54 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at Independence House, Fostoria.

He was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Perry County (Tell City), Indiana to the late Anthony E. and Anna S. (Hubert) Holman. He married Helen L. Clouse on June 14, 1958 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel and she preceded him in death July 31, 2017.

Surviving are four children, Sandy (Mark) DeRose of Port Clinton, Linda Holman of Fostoria, Chuck (Jenny) Holman of Risingsun and Scott (Robyn) Holman of Fremont; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin, Aaron, Joshua, Rebecca, Leah, Jacquelyn, Alisha, Erica, Eli, Sarah and Colt; and nine great-grandchildren, Chloe, Gabriella, Isabella, Annalisa, Emmy, Connor, Audrey, Nolan and Parker.

He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brad Szilagyi; six brothers, Allen, Herman, Porter, Leonard, Omer and Carl Holman; and four sisters, Catherine Mosier, Cecelia Droll, Bernadine Droll and Mary Kinn.

Tony was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired in 1994 from Seneca Wire. He was a faithful member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and the Third Order of St. Francis. He will be remembered as a devout Roman Catholic who dearly loved his family. He had a good sense of humor, enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, gardening, fishing and listening to music.

Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will then take place in St. Wendelin Parish Hall.

Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Church or Bridge Hospice Care.
