Alice Daugherty Obituary

Alice M. (Frankart) Daugherty

Alice M. (Frankart) Daugherty, 81, of Fostoria, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Fostoria, to Marion M. and Agnes M. (Reinhart) Frankart. She married Gordon R. "Duff" Daugherty on June 19, 1970, in Fostoria, and he passed away Nov. 3, 1983.

Alice is survived by three children, Mark (Tonnie) O'Dell of Fostoria, Lisa M. (Tim) Flipse of Findlay, and Eric Daugherty of Fostoria; four grandchildren, Erica O'Dell, Tara O'Dell, Sarah Ryan, and Katie Sprague; five great-grandchildren, Mason Everly, Dominic Reforgiano, Karmyn O'Dell, Ellison Sprague, and Adalyn Sprague; three brothers, Albert (Janet) Frankart of Fostoria, Jim (Judy) Frankart of Virginia, and Paul (Carol) Frankart of Fostoria; and two sisters, Shirley (Alan) Ryman of Fostoria and Pauline (Aubrey) Hess of Tiffin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Bernard "Butch" Frankart; and seven sisters, Mildred Frankart, Martha Kuhn, Dolores Cramer, Helen Taylor, Mary Tiell, and infant sisters Barbara Ann and Bernadette.

Alice was a lifelong, humble, and faithful member of St. Wendelin Catholic Parish. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, member of the Rosary-Altar Society, and was instrumental in the CCD program, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, and vacation Bible school for many years. Alice retired as the Religious Education Secretary of St. Wendelin's.

Alice will be fondly remembered as a fabulous cook. Her homemade lasagna and baked goods were among favorites. She enjoyed crocheting, especially prayer shawls for the church. She liked taking care of the flower beds and nurturing God's gifts, but most of all she loved her family and was always there to support them.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil will be at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will then be served at St. Wendelin Parish Hall.

Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Church or Cemetery Fund, Boys Town, or St. Joseph's Indian School.

I will always remember Alice for her gentle manner and for her love of God.
She always greeted us with a smile when she was helping with so many projects at the church. May God comfort you during your sadness. Her spirit will remain in the memories she left. Blessings, Diann and Fred Hay
