Owen was born on May 9, 1952 to Franz Owen Armbruster Sr and MaryLou Floyd. He was born in Santa Rosa, California. He passed away in West Jordan August 24, 2025.

Owen moved to Utah in the 1970's. He found the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The church was a central part of his life. His favorite calling was Branch President of the BeeHive Home in West Jordan. Owen enjoyed spending long hours with branch members and helping them and their families find peace. He was serving in his sixth year in the Wasatch Front Service Mission with his wife, Karen, in West Valley. He was also an active participant with the West Valley City My Home Town program.

Owen did his best to show his love toward everyone, especially his friends. He would immediately stop and help anyone who asked for it. He spent countless hours assisting others with home projects and renovations, rarely taking time for himself. He truly was happiest when serving others.

Owen enjoyed riding his horses, target shooting, hunting, fishing, jeeping, working at Wasatch Forge, and was a member of the American Bladesmith Society. He was a carpenter, truck driver, and a retired member of the Teamsters Union. One of his proudest accomplishments was teaching himself horsemanship, including training, riding, and ferrier work. He learned these skills through reading. He often voiced that elementary teachers were most important in one's life because students were taught to read. If you could read, you could learn and do anything.

Owen is preceded in death by his parents, Franz Owen Sr and MaryLou; his two brothers, Charles and Peter. Owen is survived by his wife, Karen, children Benjamin, Rebecca, Taylor (Tyrell) and Brent; grandchildren Bonnie, Elizabeth, Kendall, and his dog Melvin.

Services will be held Saturday, September 6th at the Mountain View Stake Center: 2901 W 9000 S, West Jordan at 11:00. Visit with family from 9:00-10:45. In lieu of flowers please send donations or school supplies to local classrooms.
