Ms. Lou Ann Adams, 91, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on July 16, 1934 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Leland E. Adams and Ruby Elrod Adams. Ann was a retired bookkeeper for the Hartwell Coca-Cola Company and a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.

She also was a Pilot Club of Hartwell Member for 70 years and has spent her life serving others. She served the Pilot Club of Hartwell four times as president and has held all other offices, elective and appointive. In addition, she served the Georgia District as international relations chairwoman, internal affairs coordinator, Region 8 lieutenant governor for two terms, governor-elect and governor from 1979-1980. She served on the Pilot International executive committee as director, secretary, second vice-president, first vice president, president-elect and Pilot International president from 1987-1988. She visited Pilot Clubs in the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, England and Japan. She has also attended 45 Pilot International Conventions, as well as many district conventions and fall councils.

Survivors include one sister: Betty Little and her husband Donald of Hartwell; one cousin: Don Holbrook of Clarksville GA.

Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Hugh I. Adams, Max Adams, Dean Adams; and one sister: Mary Heaton.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of Donald and Betty Little, Reed Creek Hwy., Hartwell GA.

Funeral services for Ms. Ann Adams will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Pilot Club of Hartwell, PO Box 1284, Hartwell GA 30643 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
