Phyllis Annes Obituary

Phyllis S. Annes age 89 nee Ciborowski, beloved wife of the late John V. Annes, dearest mother of Andrew, Rick (Judy), Scott (Susan), Mark (Laura Buzzelli), loving grandmother of Brian (Alexa), Mark (Keely), Matt (Alyssa), Mike (Lynette), Jason, and Nate, great-grandmother of Axel, Declan, Johnny, Ellie and Beau. As the oldest of 5 children, circumstances resulted in Phyllis assuming the role of substitute mother to her siblings at an age where she was still a child herself. This was a role she continued to perfect with 4 sons, six grandsons, and five great grandchildren. After marrying her childhood sweetheart, she spent the next nearly 6 decades as the loving, caring matriarch to her family. After the passing of her husband, John, in 2012, she continued to embrace a life of independent living devoted to following the lives of her ever expanding family with the simple mantra that “every day is a gift”.

Memorial visitation Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 2 pm until time of service 4 pm at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles.
