Linda (Gaffney) Duhame Obituary

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY- Linda Catherine (Gaffney) Duhame, 79, of Saratoga Springs, New York, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at Wesley Nursing Home, where she had been a favorite among the Wesley employees, who worked to earn her beautiful, genuine smile. Linda’s final days were filled with love and comfort, surrounded by her children, family, and friends.

Linda was born on September 26, 1945, to James and Ruth Gaffney of Saratoga Springs. She was raised on East Avenue in a traditional Irish-Catholic household, the beloved middle child. Linda graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, class of 1963, at the top of her class and went on to earn an associate degree in Computer Science from Albany Business School.

For more than 30 years, Linda managed the office of the late Dr. Arthur Isenberg, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern for the many patients who came through the door. She was a steady presence and an advocate, offering both warmth and reassurance.

Linda was married and later divorced, raising her three young children on her own with great love and care. She had said that the years spent on Nelson Avenue, raising her children, were the happiest of her life.

She is survived by her brother, James Gaffney of Houston, Texas; her sister, Elaine Rivette of Glen Lake, New York; her children, Brady Duhame of Saratoga Springs, Meghan Bowdish of Corinth, and Sean Duhame with his wife, Meghan, of Bolton, Massachusetts; and her grandchildren, Liam, Connor, and Niall Duhame. Each of them was a source of joy and pride, and her love for them was boundless.

Linda was loved by many and will be remembered for her selflessness, humility, resilience, and loyalty. She gave generously, whether through thoughtful gifts or small acts of care, and never asked for anything in return. She found happiness in life’s simple comforts like the warmth of home, a good steak cooked over charcoal, sitting on her front porch listening to the music that carried from Siros, with a cigarette, and Miller Lite in hand, and her sweet dog Jake by her side.

A funeral home service will be conducted at 10 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.  Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave.

Linda will be deeply missed by many, but especially by her children who relied on her constant, singular love and support. Though she is gone, she will be remembered always with gratitude, with love, and with peace.

Even though I wasn’t included in life, I am still part of her story, and I carry her in my heart. She gave me life, and in losing her, I’ve lost something I never truly had the chance to know. My condolences go out to all of us who are grieving her in our own way. May her spirit bring peace where words cannot

Linda was a school friend going back to junior high. She was always friendly and enjoyed chatting with her between classes. We lost contact after graduation until I saw her back in 2013 outside of a doctor's office - she was leaving as I was going in. Only had a few minutes but glad we had a chance to catch up. My sympathy & prayers to her family & friends.
