Bobby Ammons Obituary

Bobby Don Ammons, 72, of Buna, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 31, 1952, in Post, Texas, Bobby was the beloved son of James “Tooter” Ammons and Margaret Elizabeth Shaw.

Bobby was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Ammons, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage before her passing in December of 2016. Their bond was one of deep love, laughter, and unwavering support — a foundation upon which their family was built.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Barbara Smith and Angela Antillon, Men he proudly considered his sons, Timothy Smith  and Jorge Antillon. He was a treasured grandfather to Aaren Harris(Colton), Rachel Roth(Kyle),Courtney Borah(Shafen), Mallory Buss(Zach), Joyce McDougle, and Bianca McDougle, each of whom he loved deeply and supported wholeheartedly. 

Bobby was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Anna Harris, Reid Roth, Angel McDougle, Scarlett Borah, Ryli Roth, Damian Buss, and Wesley Borah. His love for them was pure and joyful — he lit up every time they walked into the room, and they brought out a softness and pride in him that only great-grandchildren could. Whether it was through stories, laughter, or quiet moments together, Bobby made sure each of them felt truly cherished. His sister Tonie Marie Ammons and several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife,  parents, two brothers and two precious granddaughters. 

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Terrace Cemetery in Post. Interment will follow under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 5, 2025 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Colton Harris, Shafen Borah, Kyle Roth, Zach Buss, Tommy Ammons and James Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be Jorge Antillon and Tim Smith.
